The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons looks to throw a body kick
and Davis counters with an outside leg kick.

Davis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Davis connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Simmons momentarily.

and Davis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Davis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

No joy there for Davis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Simmons swings away with a body shot that misses
and Davis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Simmons works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Davis tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Simmons is able to avoid easily.
Earl Simmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Davis lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Davis throws a hook to the side of Simmons's head but Simmons sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Earl Simmons is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Davis cracks Simmons with a left hook right on the temple and Simmons goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Davis lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Simmons is OK!
