The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barksdale shoots in but Escudero avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Barksdale lands the left hand.
Escudero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barksdale paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Escudero doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Escudero throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Barksdale takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Escudero tries to close the distance and clinch but Barksdale swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Barksdale dodges the punch combination from Escudero.
Barksdale looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Escudero takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Escudero swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Crunch! Barksdale slams his shin into Escudero's torso.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Avon Barksdale. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Barksdale counters with a head kick that wobbles Escudero - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Barksdale sends him down. This one is all over!
