Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Volkanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanov looks to land a combination but Volkanov avoids it well.

Volkanov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Volkanov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ivanov can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ivanov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Volkanov.

Ivanov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Volkanov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Volkanov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Volkanov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Volkanov breaks from Ivanov's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Ivanov tries to control the position but Volkanov now has his back.

Volkanov is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Ivanov up.

Volkanov is working for a rear naked choke. Ivanov is not defending it well and Volkanov has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Ivanov refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Ivanov's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
