Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saddam Hussein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saddam Hussein will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saddam Hussein!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerr fails with the takedown.
Kerr is breathing heavily.
Hussein scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kerr in his tracks.
Hussein lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hussein.
Kerr fails with a takedown attempt.
Hussein lunges at Kerr with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kerr's hand.

Hussein gets the takedown into side control.
Kerr parries the strikes from Hussein easily there. Hussein is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kerr to escape.
Hussein tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Kerr prevents Hussein from moving into mount.
Kerr is not content to let Hussein control the position.
Kerr is trying to get back to half guard.
Hussein tries to stand but Kerr is controlling his head.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hussein misses with a few strikes there.
Hussein fails with the takedown

and Kerr counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Kerr is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Hussein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kerr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like Saddam Hussein has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Kerr lands a big elbow.
Hussein is still in real trouble! Can Kerr finish him?
Hussein is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hussein tries to reverse the position but Kerr maintains control.
Hussein's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That has opened up Saddam Hussein's cut even more.
Hussein is trying to escape the mount.
Hussein is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kerr scoring with strikes but Hussein is staying in there.


The cut above Saddam Hussein's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hussein tries to hold on but Kerr pushes him away.
Kerr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A nice elbow there by Kerr.


Saddam Hussein's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Saddam Hussein's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Kevin Kerr!
