Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Short fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Evans throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Short.
Evans defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Short.
Short slips a jab and a cross from Evans.
Evans fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Short avoids it really well and circles away.
Short shoots for a double leg takedown but Evans sprawls well. He's pushed Short's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Short throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Evans's waist but Evans gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Short off to one side.

Short closes the distance and clinches up with Evans, looking for a takedown. Short pushes Evans against the cage but Evans circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Short shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Evans sprawls well. Evans wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Short gets slowly back to his feet.
Evans misses with a takedown attempt - Short sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Short shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Evans as he avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
