The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guram shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maimer pinned against the cage. Maimer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Maimer connects with the punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maimer looks to land a body kick but Guram moved away.
Maimer throws a body punch but Guram moves out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
A combination from Maimer does no damage.

Guram takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Maimer clinches.
Guram goes for a takedown attempt but Maimer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Maimer just misses with a punch to the body.
Maimer thows a body shot but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Guram walks into a left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maimer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Guram manages to avoid it.
Maimer takes the fight into the clinch.
Guram wants to break free but Maimer has control.
Maimer can't find room to land a body shot as Guram controls the action.
Guram has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Maimer after a bit of a struggle.
Hippo Maimer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kuba Guram.
Maimer breaks the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maimer misses with a low kick.
Guram fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Maimer looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Maimer rushes Guram and presses him up against the cage.
Guram gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Maimer regains guard.
Maimer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Maimer tries to get out of the position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Maimer pushes Guram off and scrambles back to his feet.
Guram rushes Maimer and presses him up against the cage.
Guram takes a knee right on the jaw!
It looks like Kuba Guram has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
A nice left hand lands by Maimer.
Maimer manages to break the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maimer fails to land with a series of punches.
Guram drops his hands for a split second and Maimer immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Guram face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Maimer follows up with a right hand that knocks Guram into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
