PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Felix Pomfrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dylan john (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that dylan john was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felix Pomfrey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pomfrey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but john moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

john closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pomfrey gets full guard.
john is looking to advance position but Pomfrey has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
john is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pomfrey stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Pomfrey fails to land with a series of punches.
john looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

john shoots in looking for a takedown. Pomfrey tries to sprawl out of it but john keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pomfrey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pomfrey is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

john wants to get back to full guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pomfrey connects with a nice short shot to john's temple.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pomfrey in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

john is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pomfrey is just riding it out for now. john eventually gives up the hold.

john swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pomfrey is now in john's guard. A big mistake from john there, giving up the dominant position!

john had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pomfrey is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. john Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pomfrey's back instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
