Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilford Pure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayes has chosen Superfreak as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JJ Hayes!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes is looking to clinch but Pure is avoiding it.
Pure takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

It looks like Wilford Pure has been cut.
Hayes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pure was well out of range. Poor timing from Hayes.
Hayes throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pure counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like JJ Hayes has been cut.
Hayes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pure eats them both and turns towards Hayes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Hayes lands the left hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hayes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Hayes throws a poor cross that misses
and Pure counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hayes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hayes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hayes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hayes throws a right hand that Pure ducks under and follows up with a left that Pure also avoids with ease.
Sloppy strikes from Pure. Those never looked like landing.
Pure misses with a series of wild punches.
Hayes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hayes misses with a series of wild punches.
Pure jabs Hayes right on the nose. Hayes blinks but takes it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hayes tries to clinch but Pure moves out of range.
Hayes lands a lovely overhand right.
Hayes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hayes has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
JJ Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pure slips a jab and a cross from Hayes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hayes. Pure does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hayes avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hayes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pure manages to avoid it.
Pure slips under a jab from Hayes.
Hayes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pure lands with a hook. Hayes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

That has opened up JJ Hayes's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pure cracks Hayes with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hayes looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Pure finish him?

Hayes is rocked!

The cut above JJ Hayes's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hayes looks gassed!
Hayes is holding his hands too far apart here. Pure throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Hayes is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Wilford Pure!
After the fight, Wilford Pure was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
