Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Riggs Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug Brown!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thomas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Thomas passes Brown's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Thomas wants to work for an arm triangle but Brown is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Brown is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Thomas is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Thomas frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Brown slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Brown wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.

Thomas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brown gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Thomas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brown can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Brown distracts Thomas with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Brown avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Thomas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brown manages to get himself to full guard.
Thomas wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position.
Thomas lands a couple of elbows.

Thomas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Thomas is pushing down on Brown's leg trying to pass to half guard. Brown is fighting to maintain full guard but Thomas has managed to sneak the leg through.
Thomas works his way into side control.

Thomas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brown has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Riggs Thomas dominated that round.

Brown closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Thomas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Brown manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Thomas has Brown in his guard.
