PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Baramari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Holt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baramari comes to the cage accompanied by WOODKID - Iron. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manny Holt!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baramari throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Baramari pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Baramari looks to throw the jab but Holt is out of range.
Baramari throws a sloppy head kick and Holt moves out of range easily.
Holt throws an off balance right hand
and Baramari counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Baramari throws a push kick but Holt slaps the foot to one side.
A slapping body kick lands there for Baramari.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Baramari.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Baramari.
Holt avoids a kick to the body.
Holt misses with a looping right.

Holt throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Baramari tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Holt is in Baramari's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Baramari wants to stand but Holt is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Holt lands a big shot there that rocks Baramari but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Baramari will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Baramari pushes Holt off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Baramari throws a head kick but Holt moves out of range.

Baramari tries to work over Holt's front leg with a kick but Holt checks it.
Baramari throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Holt swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Baramari throws a half hearted mid kick.
Baramari is looking to slow Holt down with leg kicks.
Holt blocks a head kick by Baramari.
Holt takes one on the chin but seems OK.

It looks like Manny Holt has been cut.

Holt cracks a nice hook into Baramari's ribs.
Baramari avoids a punch combination nicely.
Holt has a takedown stuffed.
Baramari throws out a leg kick but Holt moves out of range and Baramari only half commits.
Baramari tries a head kick but it misses.
Baramari pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Holt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Baramari.
Baramari leaves Holt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Good work by Holt as he checks the leg kick.
Baramari wants to slow Holt down by chopping away at his legs.
Baramari tries to move into range but Holt moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Holt fails in his attempt to clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Baramari is looking to land body kicks.

Holt looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Baramari has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Holt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Baramari is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Baramari connects with a leg kick. Holt looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Bob Baramari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Baramari tries to score with a low kick but Holt moves his leg out of the way.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Holt tries to close the distance and clinch but Baramari swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Baramari lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Baramari.
Baramari will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Holt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Baramari misses with a low kick.
Baramari goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

That has opened up Manny Holt's cut even more.
A looping hook to the body misses from Holt. Baramari does a little dance to reset his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bob Baramari is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Baramari lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Holt has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Holt and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Manny Holt's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Manny Holt's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
