Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Ares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Proudstar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ares comes to the cage accompanied by r this town i 101. Proudstar is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by "Run to the hills" by Iron Maiden . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Solomon Ares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Proudstar!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Proudstar.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Proudstar crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ares - the referee stops the clock and Proudstar gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ares. Proudstar manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Ares looking to score a takedown here. Proudstar is defending well but Ares drives through and ends up in Proudstar's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ares is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Proudstar tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Proudstar trying to keep a closed guard but Ares is proving a slippery customer.
Ares trying to control the position from guard on top but Proudstar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ares is really struggling to control Proudstar but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Ares controlling from the top position.
Proudstar wants to stand and escape but Ares is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Solomon Ares has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ares throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Proudstar counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Solomon Ares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ares misses with a body shot.
Proudstar scores with a jab. Ares acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ares throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ares tries to close the distance and clinch up but Proudstar swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ares feints and as Proudstar raises his hands in defense, Ares changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ares throwing strikes from guard but Proudstar blocks nicely.
Proudstar wants to sweep here but Ares controlling him for the moment.
Ares trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ares tries to free his leg and advance position but Proudstar is retaining full guard.
Ares wants to control from the top but Proudstar keeps moving.
Proudstar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ares postures up.
Ares throws a big right hand that misses.
Ares is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Proudstar lands with a cross.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ares scores with a shot to the side of Proudstar's head.
Proudstar goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ares lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Ares takes a shot to the head.
Ares blocks an uppercut.
Proudstar struggles to land a body shot inside as Ares controls his hands.
Ares blocks a body shot from Proudstar.
Proudstar's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Proudstar putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Ares in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Proudstar misses with a punch to the body.
Ares tries a body shot but Proudstar blocks it.
Ares slowing the pace effectively.
Proudstar blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Ares manages to break the clinch.
James Proudstar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Proudstar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Both fighters circling a little - Proudstar finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Ares rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Proudstar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ares is breathing heavily.
Proudstar thuds his right hand into Ares's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Proudstar scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ares in his tracks.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Proudstar, right into the meat.

Proudstar lands a big head kick that sends Ares tumbling to the mat! Proudstar takes a step backwards and waves Ares back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Ares is rocked!


It looks like Solomon Ares has been cut.
Proudstar cracks Ares's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Ares slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Proudstar can do further damage! This one is done, son!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). James Proudstar!
