Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Chavez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Travis Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Miguel Chavez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Chavez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Chavez is looking to land body kicks.
Chavez tries to clinch there but Hunter circles away.
Chavez throws a nice head kick!

Hunter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Chavez's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hunter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Hunter seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Hunter throws a strike but Chavez avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Hunter wants to pass the guard but Chavez is keeping the position.

Hunter throws a strike but Chavez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hunter wants to get back to his feet but Chavez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Chavez wants to stand but Hunter is controlling his posture from full guard.

Hunter has his foot on Chavez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chavez works his way back into a safe position though.

Chavez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hunter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chavez has managed to get both his arms back between Hunter's legs - danger averted.

Chavez stays in close to Hunter's body and controls the position.

Miguel Chavez has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hunter throws a front kick aimed at Chavez's knee but Chavez avoids it well.
Hunter takes a swing at Chavez's ribcage but misses.
Chavez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A slapping body kick lands there for Chavez.
Hunter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A shot to the liver by Hunter. Beautiful body shot.
Hunter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Chavez on the side of the head.
No joy there for Hunter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Chavez works the jab nicely.
Chavez connects with a looping right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Chavez moves forwards but Hunter connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chavez moves away from the strike by Hunter.
Chavez scores with a jab to the body.
Hunter takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Chavez lands a big head kick that sends Hunter to the canvas! Chavez follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miguel Chavez!
