Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tong Van damm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van damm comes to the cage accompanied by Life Goes On. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tong Van damm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Lyoto Silva!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva lands a jab to Van damm's midsection.

Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Van damm napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Van damm tries to bench press Silva off him but Silva keeps the position.

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Van damm, who protects the arm well.
Van damm can't do much from the bottom here.
Van damm is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Silva's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Van damm is trying to control but can't.
Van damm is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Van damm preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Van damm trying to control but Silva postures up.
Van damm blocking the ground and pound attempt from Silva.
Van damm is looking to control Silva's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Van damm avoid being mounted?
Van damm is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!
Van damm trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Van damm will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Silva tries to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva just trying to survive but Van damm is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Silva breaks Van damm's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Van damm has his hands on Silva's head, controlling the position.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Van damm is retaining full guard.
Van damm is adopting a defensive guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Van damm drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Silva manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Van damm wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.
Van damm is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Van damm tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Van damm gets back to full guard.
Silva won't allow Van damm to sweep him here.
Van damm pulls Silva in close to prevent any damage.
Silva looking to sit in guard and control but Van damm gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Van damm wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Van damm stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tong Van damm will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Silva throws a head kick that misses.
Silva throws a lazy head kick
letting Van damm counter with a right hand.
Van damm moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Van damm. Van damm gets slowly back to his feet.
Van damm avoids the head kick by Silva.
Silva misses with a body kick.
Silva on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Silva pushes Van damm up against the cage in a clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Silva.
Silva trying to control the position but instead, Van damm has worked for underhooks and has pushed Silva into the cage.
Van damm is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva misses with a body punch.
A frustrated look appears on Silva's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Silva throws a punch but it's blocked by Van damm.
Silva lands with a left to the head.
Van damm with a knee to the head.

It looks like Lyoto Silva has been cut.
Van damm keeps control of Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Van damm has Silva pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Van damm pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Silva tumbling to the mat - Van damm dives into Silva's guard.

Silva is trying to push Van damm off with his feet but Van damm grabs hold of one of the legs and drops back looking for a submission! He's cranking on one of Silva's ankles and Silva is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Ankle Lock). Tong Van damm!
