Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Smyth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles comes to the cage accompanied by Muddy Waters- Hoochie Coochie Man. Smyth has chosen Painkiller - Pendulum feat. Freestylers as his entrance music. Ray Charles could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kris Smyth's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kris Smyth!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Charles. Smyth does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smyth misses with a body shot.
Charles misses the jab.
Charles blocks the body kick.
Smyth tries to clinch up but Charles circles away and keeps his distance.
Charles lands a jab.
Charles throws a hook to the side of Smyth's head but Smyth sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Charles throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Charles moves out of range as Smyth throws a body kick.
Charles avoids the body shot from Smyth.
Charles works Smyth's body with a nice hook.
Smyth throws a body punch but Charles moves out of range.
Smyth throws a leg kick but Charles sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Charles has closed the distance and engaged Smyth in a clinch.
Charles tries to throw a body punch but Smyth avoids it by throwing Charles back against the cage.
Smyth tries a body shot but Charles blocks it.

Smyth is pressed up against the cage. Charles has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smyth down to the mat. Smyth avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Charles closes the distance and clinches up with Smyth, looking for a takedown. Charles pushes Smyth against the cage but Smyth circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Smyth tries to clinch up but Charles circles away and keeps his distance.
Smyth throws the kick towards the body but Charles avoids it.
Smyth walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Charles tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smyth sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Charles somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Charles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smyth takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Charles blocks a head kick by Smyth.
A nice leg kick lands there from Smyth.
Smyth needs to keep his hands up - Charles had a free shot at his head there.
Smyth doesn't manage to clinch there - Charles circles away.
Smyth connects with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smyth on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Charles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smyth was well out of range. Poor timing from Charles.

A low kick from Smyth is predictable there
and Charles counters with a two punch combo.
Smyth avoids a punch combination nicely.
Charles throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smyth looks to land a body kick but Charles moved away.
Charles throws out a powerful jab.
No joy there for Smyth, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smyth goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Ray Charles has been cut.
Smyth misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Charles.
Charles lands with a cross.
Smyth takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Smyth avoids a punch combination nicely.
Charles thows a body shot but no joy.
An inside leg kick lands from Smyth.

Smyth keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A shot to the body from Charles misses
letting Smyth counter with a right hand.
A telegraphed right hand from Smyth misses the target.
Charles misses with a left hand
and Smyth counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Charles cracks Smyth with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Smyth avoids the body shot from Charles.
Smyth connects with a right hand. Charles shakes it off.
Smyth uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Charles fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Smyth takes the fight into the clinch.
Smyth misses with a knee to the head.
Charles lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Charles fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Smyth misses with a knee to the head.

Smyth throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Charles working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Smyth gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Ray Charles's cut is getting worse.
Smyth blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Charles.
Smyth's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Charles creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Smyth's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Smyth drops to his knees and Charles pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ray Charles!
