The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roode fails with the takedown
and Yoshioka counters with a three punch combo that has Roode backing up. Roode nods at Yoshioka to acknowledge the strikes.

and Yoshioka counters with a left to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Roode. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Roode tries to clinch but Yoshioka moves away
and Yoshioka counters with a good low kick that Roode was not able to check.
Yoshioka misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yoshioka throws a right hand that Roode ducks under and follows up with a left that Roode also avoids with ease.
Yoshioka lands a jab to the nose.

Yoshioka pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Roode back to the cage. Yoshioka follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Yoshioka uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Yoshioka changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Roode is breathing heavily.

and Yoshioka counters with a lovely straight right hand!
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Roode. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Yoshioka lands a big uppercut and Roode crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Roode looks OK. Yoshioka waves Roode back to his feet!

Roode is rocked!

Yoshioka throws a pinpoint strike between Roode's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Roode crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Yoshioka scores a great knockout victory!
