Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Omar Double (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mendonca Deushe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Omar Double could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mendonca Deushe's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Omar Double!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mendonca Deushe!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deushe fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Double gets a takedown into half guard.

Deushe looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Deushe is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Deushe is trying to stand.
Deushe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Double with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Deushe trying to control here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Omar Double wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Deushe misses with a takedown attempt - Double sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Double really is a fat lump.

so Deushe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Double has his hands on Deushe's head, controlling the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Omar Double just wasn't active enough.
Deushe thows a body shot but no joy.
Deushe is looking to clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Deushe. Those never looked like landing.
Double fails with the takedown

and Deushe counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Deushe looks gassed!
Deushe wants to take a breather but Double is having none of it.
Double gets back to full guard.
Double controlling Deushe's posture.
Deushe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Double swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Double controlling the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Double fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Deushe sprawls well initially but Double persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Double looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Double's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Omar Double will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Deushe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Double tries to keep at a distance but Deushe has taken the fight into the clinch.
Deushe taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Deushe pulls Double into guard.
Double looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Deushe can do anything to dispel that myth.
Deushe has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Mendonca Deushe has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Double gets caught napping as Deushe dives in and scores a takedown. Double manages to retain guard.
Deushe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Double swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Double manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Deushe is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Double tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Deushe wants to control but Double is having none of it.
Deushe is looking to improve his position but Double isn't that keen on the idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Deushe misses with a wild combination.
Deushe is breathing heavily.
Double stuffs the takedown attempt from Deushe. Deushe gets slowly back to his feet.

Double looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Double takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Mendonca Deushe will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Double looks for a takedown but Deushe sprawls well.
Deushe shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Deushe fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Deushe looks to clinch

and Double counters with a shoot takedown. Deushe fights it but they end up in guard.
Double stays in close to Deushe's body and controls the position.
Deushe looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Double puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Double prevents Deushe from improving his position.
Deushe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Double perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Omar Double.
Deushe tests Double's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Double decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Double prevents Deushe from standing back up.
Double seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Double throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Deushe's waist but Deushe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Double off to one side.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from Double as Deushe shoots in.
Omar Double has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mendonca Deushe.

Deushe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Double pushes down on Deushe's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Deushe is trying to stand up here but Double is controlling him well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Deushe wants to control but Double is keeping busy.
Double with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mendonca Deushe wasn't active enough on the ground.
Horrible takedown by Deushe or perhaps it was just good defense by Double which made him look bad.
Omar Double is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Double looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Deushe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Double keeping control of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Deushe tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

And that's the end of the fight!
Omar Double showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Double has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
