Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Shortage counters with a straight right hand.
A head kick misses from Adams.
No luck for Adams with that takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Adams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Shortage shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shortage showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Shortage throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Adams is looking for a sweep. Shortage is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Adams wants to get back to his feet.
Shortage not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Adams has hold of Shortage's hands but Shortage slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Shortage wants to pass the guard but Adams is defending well.
Adams is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shortage trying to control the action but Adams is working from the bottom.

Shortage is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shortage postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
