Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Felix St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Felix St Pierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luiz Soto!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soto displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as St Pierre throws out the jab.

Soto drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Soto wants to control from the top but St Pierre keeps moving.

St Pierre is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Soto controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

St Pierre is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Soto is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
St Pierre looking to hit a scissor sweep but Soto is one step ahead there.

St Pierre working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Soto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Soto manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Soto postures up and lands a big shot to St Pierre's brow.

St Pierre has his foot on Soto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Soto works his way back into a safe position though.

St Pierre isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Soto stacks St Pierre on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Soto!

St Pierre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Soto lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear St Pierre down.

Well Soto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
