PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kareem Aziz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esta me Dinero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aziz comes to the cage accompanied by Lowkey- Long Live Palestine. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kareem Aziz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Esta me Dinero!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aziz scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Dinero is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Dinero fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Aziz sprawls well initially but Dinero persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Aziz is trying to control but can't.
Dinero is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Dinero is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
It looks like Dinero might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Dinero has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Esta me Dinero wasn't active enough on the ground.
Aziz scores with a hook to the body. Dinero takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Dinero closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Aziz to the mat! Aziz manages to get full guard.
Dinero stands up over Aziz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dinero controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dinero has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Aziz is proving hard to escape from.
Dinero engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Aziz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Aziz trying to keep a closed guard but Dinero is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aziz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dinero throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Aziz keeping moving, preventing Dinero from controlling successfully.
Dinero has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Aziz is proving hard to escape from.
Dinero stays in close to Aziz's body and controls the position.
Aziz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Esta me Dinero has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Aziz throws a right and a left that both miss.

Dinero closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Aziz's guard.
Aziz keeping full guard, as Dinero tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aziz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dinero doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dinero manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Aziz wants to hit a switch here but Dinero passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Aziz there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dinero sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Aziz wants to hold on but Dinero pushes him away.
Dinero manages to capitalize on a mistake by Aziz to take his back!
Dinero trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Aziz doesn't escape.
Aziz just trying to survive but Dinero is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Aziz breaks Dinero's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Dinero has his feet on Aziz's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Aziz looks to land a combination but Dinero avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dinero moves into the clinch.

Dinero successfully pulls guard.
Dinero wants to stand but Aziz is controlling the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dinero is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dinero landing knees to the body.

Dinero jumps guard.
Dinero keeping full guard, as Aziz tries to pass.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Esta me Dinero dominated that round.
That's time! Aziz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Dinero has taken the fight to the clinch.
Aziz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dinero walks away with a smile on his face. Aziz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dinero throws a sloppy head kick and Aziz moves out of range easily.

Dinero instigates a clinch.
Aziz is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dinero to keep the fight standing.

Dinero lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Aziz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dinero pulls his head out easily.
Aziz wants to get back to full guard but Dinero has passed into side control.

Dinero tries for a kimura but Aziz is defending well.
Dinero working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aziz is looking to reverse the position.
Dinero lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Dinero has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Aziz is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dinero yanks on the arm and Aziz is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dinero.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Esta me Dinero!
