Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kong Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Le has chosen Ave Maria as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kong Le has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

With a record of 24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kong Le!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Le tries to land a body kick
and Pierre counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A thudding body kick lands there by Le!
Pierre misses with a hook to the body
and Le counters with a head kick.
Pierre misses with a straight left.
Le throws a shot from downtown. Pierre moves away and avoids it.
Le fails to land with a series of punches.

Le digs a good hook to Pierre's body.
Le chopping away at his opponent's legs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Le throws a sloppy head kick and Pierre moves out of range easily.

Le rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pierre moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pierre on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Le. Le obviously looking to wear him down.
A jab from Pierre finds it's way through Le's defenses.

Le is looking to slow Pierre down with leg kicks.

and Le counters with a big head kick but Pierre shrugs it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pierre lands a nice hook to Le's body. Le takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Pierre throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Le's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pierre connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Le scrambles back to his feet.

Pierre connects with a leg kick. Le looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A looping hook to the body misses from Pierre. Le does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pierre throws a low kick but it's checked well by Le.
Pierre lands a jab.
Le avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Le tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pierre sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Both fighters circling a little - Pierre finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Le has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pierre finds it's way round the side to connect with Le's head.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Pierre.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that George Pierre will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Le doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Pierre throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Le lets loose with a powerful body kick. Pierre will feel that in the morning.
Le tried to score with a low kick but Pierre checks it.
Pierre lands a really nice looking cross but Le seems unphased.
Pierre throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Le slips a jab and a cross from Pierre.
Pierre lands a lovely overhand right.
Le throws an overhand right that lands on Pierre's shoulder, as Pierre tries to avoid the shot.

Pierre takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
A head kick by Le misses
letting Pierre counter with a right hand.
Pierre connects with a solid leg kick.
Le throws a head kick that misses.
Pierre lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
George Pierre is winning the standup battle so far.

Kong Le is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Le throws a head kick but Pierre moves out of range.

No joy there for Le, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Crunch! Le slams his shin into Pierre's torso.

Pierre connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Pierre jabs Le right on the nose. Le blinks but takes it well.
Le attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Le pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Pierre back to the ropes. Le follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Le takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Le dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pierre. That did some damage!

Le is looking to chop away at Pierre's legs.

Pierre catches Le with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Pierre counters with a right hand to the body.

Pierre shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

That was a close second round but I would say that George Pierre will probably get the nod.

Well Pierre has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
