PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Anson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timothy Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, ''South of Heaven'' by The Electric Hellfire Club. Mcgee comes into a darkened arena with his song building. McGee kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Timothy Mcgee struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seth Anson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Timothy Mcgee!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mcgee dodges the punch combination from Anson.
Mcgee has a takedown stuffed.
Anson stuffs the takedown attempt from Mcgee. Mcgee gets slowly back to his feet.
Mcgee throws a head kick but Anson moves out of range.
Anson misses with a series of wild punches.
Mcgee misses with a takedown attempt - Anson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Mcgee is trying to stand back up but Anson is controlling him
Mcgee is refusing to be controlled, as Anson sits in half guard.
Mcgee regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Anson.
Mcgee lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Anson!

Anson regains half guard.
Anson wants to control but Mcgee is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Mcgee is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Mcgee is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Anson as he works his way to full guard.
Mcgee is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Mcgee drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Anson dives on top into guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Seth Anson will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mcgee shoots and misses
and Anson counters with a nice uppercut.

and Anson counters by moving into the clinch.

Mcgee is trying to trip Anson. He has hold of a leg but Anson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mcgee persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Timothy Mcgee has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mcgee postures up in Anson's guard and throws a big left but Anson blocks it.
Mcgee wants to control from the top but Anson keeps moving.

Mcgee looks for a takedown but Anson sprawls well.

Anson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Timothy Mcgee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcgee tries to clinch but Anson is having none of it.
Mcgee shoots in looking for a takedown. Anson tries to sprawl out of it but Mcgee keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Anson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Anson lands with a hook. Mcgee tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mcgee crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Anson - the referee stops the clock and Mcgee gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Anson. Mcgee manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

and Anson counters with a series of strikes. Mcgee will be more careful next time no doubt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mcgee shoots in and bounces Anson off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Mcgee is breathing heavily.

Anson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Mcgee wants to stand but Anson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Anson uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Anson checks a leg kick.
Mcgee closes the distance and clinches up with Anson, looking for a takedown. Mcgee pushes Anson against the ropes but Anson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mcgee fails to land the takedown.

Mcgee instigates a clinch.

Anson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Mcgee prevents a body shot from Anson.
Anson tries to throw a body punch but Mcgee avoids it by throwing Anson back against the ropes.
A head punch on the inside from Anson fails to land.
Mcgee changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Anson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Anson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice takedown defense from Anson. No joy for Mcgee on that attempt.
Mcgee moves out of range of the strikes.
Mcgee keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Anson.

Horrible takedown by Mcgee or perhaps it was just good defense by Anson which made him look bad.

Mcgee paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Mcgee shoots in for a double leg but Anson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Mcgee closes the distance and clinches up with Anson, looking for a takedown. Mcgee pushes Anson against the ropes but Anson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mcgee shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anson sprawls well. Anson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mcgee gets slowly back to his feet.
Mcgee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Anson scores with a head kick. Mcgee tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Mcgee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Anson is fending him off so far but Mcgee persists. Nope, Anson circles away and we're back to standing.

and Anson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mcgee fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Anson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mcgee backs up against the ropes.

Mcgee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anson as he avoids it easily.
Mcgee chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Anson can pounce on him.
Seth Anson is winning the standup battle so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Anson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mcgee.
Timothy Mcgee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mcgee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Anson tries to avoid it but Mcgee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Anson to the ground. Anson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Anson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mcgee under the eye.
Mcgee fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Anson avoids it really well and circles away.
Anson steps in with a hook that catches Mcgee right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Anson follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Mcgee looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Seth Anson!
