PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maykel Awang Bang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinicius Magalhaes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Awang Bang comes to the ring accompanied by Manu Chao-Bongo Bong. Magalhaes has chosen Johnny Cash - Aint no Grave as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magalhaes throws out a loose jab but Awang Bang uses good head movement to avoid it.
Awang Bang tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Magalhaes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Awang Bang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Magalhaes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Awang Bang is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Magalhaes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Magalhaes is looking for a sweep.

Magalhaes wants to work for an arm triangle but Awang Bang is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Magalhaes is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Awang Bang to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Awang Bang got a little sloppy there for a moment and Magalhaes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Awang Bang has managed to get both his arms back between Magalhaes's legs - danger averted.

Magalhaes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Awang Bang manages to get himself to full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Awang Bang fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Magalhaes, pushing him back against the ropes.
A left hand lands to the body for Awang Bang.
Awang Bang has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Magalhaes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Magalhaes has Awang Bang pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Magalhaes pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Awang Bang tumbling to the mat - Magalhaes dives into Awang Bang's guard.
Magalhaes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Awang Bang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
