Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Krups (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Sobchak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krups comes into the arena with Escape from the Hostile blaring out of the sound system. Krups is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Mark Krups has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeff Sobchak !
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobchak connects with a looping right hand.
Sobchak looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sobchak fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Krups gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sobchak moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Sobchak looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Good leg kick by Sobchak there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sobchak throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Sobchak fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Krups, pushing him back against the cage.

Krups is looking to control Sobchak 's arms but Sobchak gets an underhook and turns him. Now Krups has his back to the cage.
Sobchak lands a body shot in the clinch.
Sobchak gets through Krups's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Krups takes a knee right on the jaw!
Sobchak throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Krups blocks it with crossed arms.
Krups tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sobchak avoids it.

Krups pushes Sobchak back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Krups is looking to control Sobchak 's arms but Sobchak gets an underhook and turns him. Now Krups has his back to the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sobchak is trying to trip Krups. He has hold of a leg but Krups is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sobchak persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Sobchak postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sobchak stands and throws Krups's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sobchak in side control, just content to control the action for now.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Krups parries the strikes from Sobchak easily there. Sobchak is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Krups to escape.
Krups takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sobchak scores with punches from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Sobchak dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sobchak 's corner calls for a 1-2. Sobchak obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Sobchak lands a nice looking kick to the body. Krups takes a step back to recover.

Sobchak tightens his grip and picks Krups up, before dumping him to the ground. Krups manages to land in guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A big shot lands for Sobchak ! That's hurt Krups! Will he recover? Sobchak fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
