Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy McGee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mister House!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with House, pushing him back against the cage.

McGee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
House misses with a straight right.
McGee tries to clinch

and House counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
House sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
House's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mister House.
House moves to clinch but McGee breaks away
and McGee counters with an outside leg kick.

McGee takes the fight into the clinch.

McGee has a couple of punches blocked by House.
House avoiding damage as McGee throws knees to the body.
McGee with an attempt at a knee that misses.
House has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McGee after a bit of a struggle.
McGee swings wildly with an uppercut but House uses good head movement to avoid it.
McGee tries to land a knee to the head but House blocks with his arms.
House has McGee pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. McGee manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
McGee using the Thai plumb to throw knees but House has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
House drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jimmy McGee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mister House.

House tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McGee just stands there and leans against the cage.

McGee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McGee thumps House with a low kick.
McGee fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and House has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jimmy McGee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McGee has managed to clinch.
McGee has House pushed against the cage.
House is looking to take this one to the mat.

House tries to pull guard but McGee forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

House wants to get back to his feet but McGee is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

House takes a knee to the side of the body.

McGee avoids the head kick by House.
McGee tries to close the distance and clinch up but House swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McGee moves in looking to clinch but House pushes him off.
McGee doesn't manage to clinch there - House circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


House shoots in looking for a takedown but McGee manages to keep the fight standing, pushing House's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

House swats away the attempt to clinch by McGee.
McGee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but House paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and House counters with a nice double leg into side control. McGee won't be happy with that.
McGee is trying to improve his position.
McGee is letting House control him for a moment.

Mister House has got the better of the ground game so far.

House tries for a kimura but McGee is defending well.
House staying calm.

House creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

House working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
House just content to control the position.

The ground and pound from House seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
House lands a few punches from side control.
House controls the position.
House lands an elbow.
House remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McGee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
House in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
McGee is trying to escape the position but House is controlling the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mister House hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from House.
Jimmy McGee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mister House showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! McGee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The fight stays on the outside here - McGee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
House misses with a shot to the body
and McGee counters with a good low kick that House was not able to check.
McGee stuffs the takedown attempt from House. House gets slowly back to his feet.
McGee throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McGee is looking to clinch but House is avoiding it.
McGee doesn't manage to clinch there - House circles away.

McGee thows a huge punch but House dodges it nicely.

House is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

McGee throws a knee to the head but misses.
McGee can't break the clinch.

McGee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

McGee closes the distance and clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

House tries for a takedown. No joy.

House feints and as McGee raises his hands in defense, House changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

House is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
House controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
McGee looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

House stays in close to McGee's body and controls the position.
Let's hope that House has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
House pushes down on McGee's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jimmy McGee.
