The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mishima pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Mishima thuds his right hand into Smith's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Mishima misses with a straight right.
Mishima throws a leg kick but Smith checks it.
Smith is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mishima.
Smith ducks under a wild hook from Mishima.
Mishima takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Smith loads up on a big right hand but Mishima slips the punch.

Mishima avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Smith enables Mishima to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Smith manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mishima wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mishima.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mishima.

A solid leg kick lands there for Mishima.
Mishima lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Mishima throws a jab but it's blocked by Smith.
Mishima shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mishima gets slowly back to his feet.
A punch lands to the side of Smith 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mishima looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smith has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mishima.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Mishima pushes Smith back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mishima pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Smith dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Smith lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Smith shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mishima napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Smith grinds an elbow into Mishima's temple.
Smith is looking to take a break and control but Mishima is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Smith wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mishima, who protects the arm well.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith is trying to ground and pound but Mishima uses the momentary lack of control by Smith to regain half guard.
Smith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mishima's head.
Smith throws a strike but Mishima avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mishima is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Taro Mishima showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mishima can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
