Thompson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Thompson throws a head kick that misses.

Roy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thompson was well out of range. Poor timing from Roy.
Thompson slaps away a takedown attempt from Roy, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Thompson throws a nice looking combination but Roy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Thompson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Lucas Roy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Roy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Thompson. Thompson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ed Thompson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Roy looks to score with a jab to the body but Thompson is just out of range.
Roy lands a nice shot to the body.
Roy fails with a takedown attempt.
Thompson misses with an uppercut. Roy saw that one coming.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Roy.
Thompson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thompson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Roy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Thompson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Roy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Thompson quickly recovers to half guard.

Roy has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Thompson defend it? Roy steps over the head and cranks it - Thompson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Roy!
