Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Maddox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Wise!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wise stuffs the takedown.
Wise on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Wise checks the leg kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Wise misses the target.
Maddox stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wise moves out of range of the body kick.
Maddox cracks a nice hook into Wise's ribs.
Maddox punishes Wise's body with a nice straight punch.
Maddox throws a body punch but Wise moves out of range.
Wise moves away from the strike by Maddox.
Maddox scores a takedown into full mount!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Wise blocking the ground and pound.
Maddox moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wise has worked his arm free - good work by Wise!

Maddox swings around for an armbar but Wise sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Maddox's guard.
Maddox is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Maddox looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wise is one step ahead there.
Wise wants to stand but Maddox has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Wise lands a couple of elbows.
Maddox wants to sweep here but Wise controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wise throwing strikes but missing.
Maddox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wise trying to control but Maddox is working from the bottom.
Maddox looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Wise puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Maddox is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wise stands up out of the half guard.
Dennis Wise is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Maddox scores with a jab.
Maddox takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Maddox throws a quick inside leg kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Maddox. That snapped Wise's head back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Maddox takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Maddox misses the shot to the body.
Maddox misses with a low kick.
No luck for Maddox with that takedown attempt.

Wise showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Maddox.
Wise throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Wise ducks under a wild hook from Maddox.
Maddox finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wise moves away from the strike by Maddox.
Maddox fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

A close round but Dennis Wise will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Maddox avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Wise uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Maddox has time to react.
Wise fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Wise throws the left hand but Maddox avoids the punch easily.
Good standup being displayed there by Maddox as he connects with a hook.

Brian Maddox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maddox cracks Wise with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

and Wise cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maddox drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Maddox, as that shot connected.

and Wise counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Wise displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Maddox throws out the jab.
Wise misses with a looping right.

Maddox uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wise.
Maddox avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Maddox feints and then cracks Wise's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wise down.
Maddox slips a jab from Wise.
Wise throws a looping overhand right but Maddox ducks down to avoid it.
The fighters circling - Wise throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wise tests Maddox's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Wise cracks Maddox with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Oh Maddox is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Maddox gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Wise gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Maddox is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dennis Wise!
Our winner, Dennis Wise, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
