Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank Saurus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Gardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saurus comes into the arena with Kraantje Pappie - Waar is Kraan? blaring out of the sound system. Gardner has chosen Stavesacre - Minuteman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gardner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Saurus keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Saurus parries the strikes from Gardner easily there. Gardner is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Saurus to escape.

Gardner is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Gardner is looking to take a break and control but Saurus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gardner is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gardner uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Saurus.
Some bone on bone action there as Gardner checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Saurus will probably get the nod.

That's time! Saurus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Saurus throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Saurus shoots in looking for a takedown. Gardner tries to sprawl out of it but Saurus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gardner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Saurus looks to score with a jab to the body but Gardner is just out of range.

Gardner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Saurus loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Gardner scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Saurus land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Saurus stands and salutes the crowd.
