Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dirk Raeder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matthew White!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Raeder tries to clinch but White moves away
and White connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
White cracks Raeder with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Raeder tries to clinch but fails miserably
and White counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
White lands with a nice body punch.
White digs a good hook to Raeder's body.
White throws a head kick that Raeder semi-blocks.
Raeder is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Raeder throws a right and a left that White avoids nicely.
Oh Raeder is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
White throws a sloppy head kick and Raeder moves out of range easily.
Raeder seems to have got his legs back now.
White stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Raeder closes the distance looking to clinch
letting White counter with a right hand.
Raeder tries to clinch up.
Raeder avoids the head kick by White.
White throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Raeder.
White misses with a straight left.
White circles away from the clinch attempt
and White counters with a big uppercut that drops Raeder face first to the mat! Will he beat the count?! He's struggled up to his knees on 7 but it doesn't look like he's going to make it... he's been counted out! This fight is all over!
