The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Area misses with a right hand
and Sinclair counters with a right hand to the body.
Area thows a body shot but no joy.
Sinclair closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Sinclair takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sinclair throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bay Area seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sinclair ducks under a wild hook from Area.
Sinclair takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Sinclair keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sinclair scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Area doesn't seem bothered though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Area throws a body punch but Sinclair moves out of range.
Area pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sloppy strikes from Area. Those never looked like landing.
Sinclair lands with an overhand left.
Area misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Area tries to clinch there but Sinclair circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sinclair scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Area connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sinclair. Sinclair circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Area throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Sinclair's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Area dives in looking to finish as Sinclair flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Area's strikes! Area is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Sinclair's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Sinclair was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
