PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Bartosiewicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes into the arena with Tupac feat. Kurupt - Still Ballin' blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jan Bartosiewicz!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bartosiewicz has Diaz up against the cage in a clinch.

Diaz is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bartosiewicz can't fight it off and eventually Diaz manages to take the fight to the floor. Bartosiewicz looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Diaz wants to stand and escape but instead Bartosiewicz has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Bartosiewicz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Bartosiewicz pushing down on Diaz's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
It looks like Bartosiewicz is going to stand back up.

Diaz manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Diaz feints and as Bartosiewicz raises his hands in defense, Diaz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bartosiewicz has his foot on Diaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diaz works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bartosiewicz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diaz stands up.

Bartosiewicz closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Diaz's guard.

Diaz is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Diaz throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Diaz lands a knee to the head.

Diaz lands an elbow just above Bartosiewicz 's eye.

Diaz turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Diaz stands up.

Bartosiewicz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Diaz to the mat! Diaz manages to get full guard.
Diaz wants to get back to his feet but Bartosiewicz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Max Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bartosiewicz gets a clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bartosiewicz has had enough of the clinch but Diaz keeps him there for the moment.
Diaz looking for a takedown.
Diaz lands a good knee to the midsection. Bartosiewicz won't want to take too many of those.

Diaz moves into range and clinches up with Bartosiewicz.
Bartosiewicz prevents the takedown attempt.

Bartosiewicz is fighting off a takedown attempt but Diaz is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bartosiewicz to the mat. Bartosiewicz regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Diaz wants to get up but he can't break Bartosiewicz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The strikes coming from Diaz are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Diaz tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
You can see the frustration on Bartosiewicz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Bartosiewicz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
