The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
hurricane keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Braxton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Braxton tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Let's hope that Braxton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Marcus Braxton just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Braxton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in hurricane's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Braxton drags the fight down to the ground.
Braxton is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Braxton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Braxton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. hurricane manages to get himself to full guard.
