PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Obi Wan King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Cheese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Police On My Back. Cheese has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Terry Cheese!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cheese back to the cage. King follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Cheese looks gassed!
King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
King throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
King looks to land a combination but Cheese avoids it well.
King works Cheese's body with a nice hook.
King jabs at Cheese's body.
A punch combination from King misses.
Left hook, right uppercut from King.
King digs a good hook to Cheese's body.
King feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cheeses jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Cheese is rocked!
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cheese is still on wobbly legs! Can King finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

King misses with a double jab.
Cheese doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King thuds a left hand into Cheese's body.
Cheese dives in and grabs King's left leg, looking for a takedown. King pushes down on Cheese's head and hops out.
King really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cheese throws a wild hook but King just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Cheese gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - King raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Obi Wan King!
Obi Wan King decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
