Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Mota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toby Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mota might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Apaga mais não bate - Pregador Luo. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans with a jab.

It looks like Marcelo Mota has been cut.
Mota closes the distance and clinches up with Evans, looking for a takedown. Mota pushes Evans against the cage but Evans circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mota.
Mota throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Nice body punch from Evans.
Mota misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Evans to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcelo Mota. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Evans fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mota looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Evans ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Mota counters by moving into the clinch.
Mota is working for takedown but Evans is calmly controlling the position for now.

Evans pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Evans digs a good hook to Mota's body.
Evans scores with a shot to the body.
Toby Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Evans looks to score with a jab to the body but Mota is just out of range.

Evans connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Mota tries for a takedown but Evans circles away easily
and Evans cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mota is breathing heavily.
Evans scores with a body shot.
Evans throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Mota on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mota moves forwards but Evans connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Mota is rocked!
Evans throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mota stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Oh Mota is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Evans jabs Mota to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Mota seems to have got his legs back now.
Evans scores with a punch to the head.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Mota. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Evans pounces like a tiger and cracks Mota with a vicious hook! Mota is down but not out! Evans follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

In his post fight interview, Toby Evans started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
