Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marg Winter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has chosen not afraid as his entrance music. Marg Winter has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marg Winter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Silva!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva moves into the clinch.
A right hand to the body from Silva.
Winter tries to circle away but Silva has him pinned against the cage.
Silva tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Silva jumps into guard, dragging Winter to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Winter stopping the sweep attempt from Silva.

Silva working for a triangle but Winter defends it easily.
Winter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Silva is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Winter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Silva not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Winter trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
Winter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Winter passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Winter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Winter decides to stand back up. Winter steps back and let's Silva get back to his feet.
Winter shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Winter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Silva throws a chopping leg kick but Winter manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Winter is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Silva's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Silva looks gassed!

Silva is stalling here. Winter is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Silva seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Winter has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Silva is trying to get back to half guard.

Winter decides to stand back up.
Marg Winter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Winter shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Winter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silva doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Winter.
Silva blocking the ground and pound attempt from Winter.

Silva holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Winter content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Winter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. Winter eventually gives up the hold.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Winter not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marg Winter will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Silva clinches up against the cage.
Winter wants a takedown but no success here.
Winter has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Winter has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Winter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Silva pushes Winter up against the cage in a clinch.

Silva pulls guard successfully.
Silva looking to control.
Winter won't allow Silva to get back to his feet.
Winter tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.

Winter throws a strike but Silva rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Winter trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.

Winter looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Silva might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Winter kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Silva wants to stand but Winter is controlling his posture from full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Richard Silva.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Winter is defended easily by Silva.

Silva is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Winter's half guard.

Winter is staying active underneath Silva, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Winter is looking to get back to is feet but Silva passes into side control.

Richard Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Winter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Silva has eaten all the pies!
Winter is trying to stand up.

Silva is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Winter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Winter fails with the takedown
and Silva counters with a straight right hand.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Winter has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

Winter throws his legs up looking for a submission but Silva uses it to pass to side control.
Silva cracks Winter with a big right hand but Winter just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Winter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Silva lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Winter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Winter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Silva decides to stand back up.

Winter gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Silva to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Silva wants to control from the top but Winter keeps moving.
Richard Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.
Silva lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Winter will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Winter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Winter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silva is aware though and is defending well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Silva wants to control from the top but Winter keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Richard Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
