Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renato Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaime Bolitho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Rua has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bolitho finds it's way round the side to connect with Rua's head.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bolitho, as that shot connected.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rua lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bolitho has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bolitho and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bolitho creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Rua throws a punch but it's blocked by Bolitho.
Rua is trying to maintain a safe position but Bolitho gets an underhook and turns Rua into the cage.

Bolitho throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rua on the side of the head.

Rua fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bolitho manages to avoid it.

Rua darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Rua is stalling here. Bolitho is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rua seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bolitho has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Bolitho's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bolitho duly obliges.
Oh Rua is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Rua walks straight into a right hand from Bolitho - that's dropped him! Bolitho jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Rua from any more punishment! Rua complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
