PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthieu Renaud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gray Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renaud comes into the arena with Bite Marks/ Screeching Weasel blaring out of the sound system. Potter has chosen Biggie Smalls - Victory as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter slips a jab and a cross from Renaud.
Potter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Renaud gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Potter to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Potter trying to control but Renaud is working from the bottom.
Potter throws a big right hand that misses.
Renaud working a defensive guard here.
Renaud wants to stand up but Potter is controlling him.
Renaud keeping moving, preventing Potter from controlling successfully.
Potter postures up in Renaud's guard and throws a big left but Renaud blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Renaud wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Renaud is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Potter throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Renaud connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Potter tumbling to the canvas! Renaud pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Potter was done - good stoppage!
