Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnett's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Stand Up. Cruz has chosen Wu-Tang Clan - Protect Your Neck as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Buddy Barnett has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Buddy Barnett seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cruz throws a left and a right that both miss

and Barnett counters by moving into the clinch.
Cruz wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Barnett has him pressed against the cage.
Cruz has had enough of the clinch but Barnett keeps him there for the moment.
Barnett misses with a knee to the head.
Barnett misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Still in the clinch, Barnett scores with a nice short uppercut.

Cruz wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cruz is looking to break free of the clinch but Barnett has double underhooks.

Cruz is trying to push Barnett away but Barnett has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Cruz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cruz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barnett.
Cruz changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Barnett moves out of range of the body kick from Cruz.
Barnett closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Cruz misses with a wild combination.

Barnett scores with a takedown into Cruz's guard.
Cruz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Barnett postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Barnett postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barnett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cruz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Barnett uses it to pass to side control.

Cruz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Barnett works to advance to full mount. Cruz defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Barnett lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Cruz is wriggling around trying to escape.
Barnett is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cruz can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Barnett lands a big shot to the head and Cruz winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
