Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Cady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Gregory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gregory's choice of entrance music: Chumbawamba - English Rebel Songs. Paul Gregory has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gregory closes the distance and clinches up with Cady, looking for a takedown. Gregory pushes Cady against the cage but Cady circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cady works Gregory's body with a nice hook.
Cady throws a looping overhand right but Gregory ducks down to avoid it.
Cady keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cady defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gregory.
Max Cady has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Gregory.
Gregory moves out of range as Cady strikes.

Cady leaves Gregory with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gregory tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gregory has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cady is not content to let Gregory control the position.

Gregory steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cady.
Gregory tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cady counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Cady keeps the fight on the outside.

Cady throws a jab but it's blocked by Gregory.
Gregory tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cady manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gregory's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Gregory sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cady's guard.

Gregory postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Gregory swings around for an armbar but Cady sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gregory's guard.
