Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Rivaldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rivaldi comes to the cage accompanied by Joker's Wild. Lawson has chosen Personality Crisis as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominick Rivaldi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Lawson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lawson closes the distance but Rivaldi moves to the side
and Rivaldi counters with a nice uppercut.
Rivaldi swats away the attempt to clinch by Lawson.
Karl Lawson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lawson throws a knee to the head but misses.
Lawson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Rivaldi.

Rivaldi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lawson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


It looks like Karl Lawson has been cut.
Rivaldi avoids the head kick by Lawson.
Lawson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Rivaldi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lawson misses with a head kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lawson closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rivaldi counters with a low kick, right behind Lawson 's knee.

Rivaldi gets tackled into the cage by Lawson. Lawson maintains the clinch.
Rivaldi gets through Lawson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Rivaldi misses with a hook to the ribs.

Lawson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lawson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Lawson closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rivaldi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rivaldi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lawson moves away.
Rivaldi lands a really nice looking cross but Lawson seems unphased.
Rivaldi blocks a head kick by Lawson.
Rivaldi throws out a powerful jab.
Lawson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rivaldi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lawson scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rivaldi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rivaldi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rivaldi fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lawson darts in trying to clinch
and Rivaldi counters with an inside leg kick.
Lawson tries to clinch up but Rivaldi circles away and keeps his distance.

Lawson moves to clinch but Rivaldi breaks away
and Rivaldi counters with a left to the body.

and Rivaldi makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Rivaldi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lawson.
Rivaldi scores with a jab. Lawson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Lawson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Rivaldi connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lawson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Lawson tries to clinch
and Rivaldi counters with a nice body shot.
Rivaldi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lawson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rivaldi scores with a hook to the body. Lawson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lawson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


That has opened up Karl Lawson's cut even more.
Rivaldi punishes Lawson's body with a nice straight punch.
Lawson looks gassed!
Rivaldi lands a front kick.
Rivaldi cracks a nice hook into Lawson's ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lawson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rivaldi.
Rivaldi scores with a hook.

Rivaldi lands a left and a right that send Lawson crashing to the mat, dazed. Rivaldi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Lawson is rocked!
Rivaldi lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Lawson falls backwards - clearly groggy! Rivaldi dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dominick Rivaldi!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Dominick Rivaldi waved his t-shirt featuring >>> Blitzkrieg Formula 5000 (159++ Recovery $25)'s logo in front of the cameras.
