Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akira Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grey Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard takes a swing at Mishima's ribcage but misses.
A head kick misses from Mishima.
Maynard blocks a head kick by Mishima.
Mishima tries to clinch but Maynard is having none of it.
Mishima throws a sloppy head kick and Maynard moves out of range easily.
Mishima fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Mishima tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maynard paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Maynard avoids the head kick by Mishima.
Horrible takedown by Mishima or perhaps it was just good defense by Maynard which made him look bad.
Mishima has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Maynard checks a leg kick.

Akira Mishima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maynard drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Maynard is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Maynard wants to control but Mishima is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Maynard tries to roll over but Mishima keeps him under control.

Mishima is nestled in close to Maynard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Mishima has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Maynard defend it? Mishima steps over the head and cranks it - Maynard is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mishima!
