The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Hatchett misses with a two punch combination.
The Hatchett closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gonzales to the mat! Gonzales manages to get full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The Hatchett drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gonzales looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gonzales looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gonzales!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gonzales thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The Hatchett throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Gonzales drives through with a takedown into The Hatchett's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gonzales stays in close to The Hatchett's body and controls the position.
The Hatchett wants to sweep here but Gonzales controlling him for the moment.

The Hatchett manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gonzales on his heels. He'll look to pass Gonzales's guard now, I'm sure.
The Hatchett is sitting in close to Gonzales's body. Gonzales has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! The Hatchett is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, The Hatchett is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Gonzales.
