The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie rushes Spar and presses him up against the cage.
Gracie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Spar misses with the combination.
Spar throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.
Spar fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gracie avoids it really well and circles away.
Spar takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Gracie counters with an inside leg kick.
Gracie lands with a shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie stands up.
Spar swinging wildly here.
Spar looks gassed!
Gracie has Spar up against the cage in a clinch.

Spar takes an elbow to the forehead.
It looks like Bjj Spar has been cut.
Spar wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

A short body shot lands from Gracie as the two fighters clinch.
Gracie connects with a nasty looking knee right to Spar's face.
Gracie lands a nice uppercut.
Spar is trying to pull guard but Gracie turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Gracie lands an elbow inside.
Gracie landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Gracie controlling the position from side mount.
Gracie cracks Spar with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gracie works to advance to full mount. Spar defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Spar keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gracie has control of Spar's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Spar regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gracie is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Gracie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Spar has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gracie lands a heavy elbow.
A big strike lands for Gracie! That's really hurt Spar and he's turned his back - Gracie keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Gracie jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
