The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hosking looks for a takedown but Ramos sprawls well.

Ramos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hosking was covering up waiting for the punch and Ramos finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Ramos is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hosking can't fight it off and eventually Ramos manages to take the fight to the floor. Hosking looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hosking scores with a one two! Ramos had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Ramos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hosking as he jumps to the side.
Hosking will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Ramos punishes Hosking's body with a nice straight punch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ramos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hosking as he avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Hosking or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramos which made him look bad.
Matthew Hosking has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Trovador Ramos is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matthew Hosking.
I think Ramos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
