Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoshi Kajiwara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ross Ridpath!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Kajiwara manages to break the clinch.
Ridpath keeps the fight on the outside.
Ridpath finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Ridpath has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kajiwara pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ridpath clinches up with Kajiwara and pushes him back against the ropes.

Kajiwara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ridpath throws a chopping leg kick but Kajiwara manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Ridpath misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ross Ridpath seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ridpath looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kajiwara pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Ridpath tries to sprawl but Kajiwara drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Kajiwara prevents Ridpath from standing back up.
It looks like Kajiwara is going to stand back up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kajiwara is looking to take a break and control but Ridpath is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ridpath is looking to control Kajiwara's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ridpath avoid being mounted?

Ridpath pushes Kajiwara off looking to stand but Kajiwara dives back in and keeps control.
Kajiwara tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ridpath tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The crowd cheers as Ridpath lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kajiwara doesn't seem phased though.

Kajiwara knocks Ridpath to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?


It looks like Ross Ridpath has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ridpath tries to improve position but can't.

Kajiwara decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ridpath to his feet.
Ridpath tries to close the distance and clinch but Kajiwara swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ridpath looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ridpath throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ridpath fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ridpath rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kajiwara moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ridpath misses with a series of wild punches.
Kajiwara pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kajiwara looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ridpath avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kajiwara tries a head kick but it misses.
Ross Ridpath is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A punch combination from Ridpath misses.
Kajiwara will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ridpath throws a low kick, looking for Kajiwara's leg but Kajiwara calmly moves out of range.
Kajiwara swings for the body but Ridpath moves out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ridpath.
Kajiwara swats away the attempt to clinch by Ridpath.
Ridpath misses with the combination.

Kajiwara tries to close the distance and clinch but Ridpath swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kajiwara rushes Ridpath and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Kajiwara trying to control the position but instead, Ridpath has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kajiwara into the ropes.
Ridpath unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Kajiwara wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kajiwara breaks the clinch.
Ridpath is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kajiwara.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ridpath looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kajiwara tries to clinch but Ridpath moves out of range.
A punch combination from Ridpath misses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kajiwara shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ridpath defends it nicely.
Whack! Kajiwara lands a heavy head kick that drops Ridpath. The ref tackles Kajiwara to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Ridpath was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Satoshi Kajiwara!
