The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
kenney avoids a punch combination nicely.
Thomison loads up on a big right hand but kenney slips the punch.
Thomison thows a body shot but no joy.
kenney will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Josh Thomison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
kenney takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
kenney scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Thomison is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Thomison is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but kenney has just dragged him back down to the mat.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Thomison throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
kenney rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thomison moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Thomison fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. kenney sprawls well initially but Thomison persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Thomison is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so kenney is just riding it out for now. Thomison eventually gives up the hold.

kenney is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Thomison's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Thomison's back!

kenney is working for a rear naked choke. Thomison is not defending it well and kenney has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Thomison refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Thomison's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
