PBP Commentary

We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Henderson wants to clinch up but Jackson keeps it at a distance.
Henderson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Henderson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Jackson slows the pace down in half guard.
Jackson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Jackson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Henderson defending well though.
Henderson controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Jackson uses his free foot to push down on Henderson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Henderson.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Henderson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jackson controlling the pace for now.
Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson throwing strikes here but Henderson is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Henderson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jackson.

Jackson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Jackson unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Henderson wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Jackson celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

A less than humble John Jackson misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
