The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steve scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Saarinen looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Steve creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Saarinen sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Saarinen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Steve.

Steve wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Saarinen, who protects the arm well.
Saarinen gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Saarinen tries to reverse the position but Steve maintains control.
Poor strikes thrown by Steve there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Saarinen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steve on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saarinen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Steve.

Steve sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Saarinen's guard.

Steve seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Saarinen is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
