Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Casey Silk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Boris Jellcin!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jellcin ducks under a wild hook from Silk.
Jellcin throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Casey Silk has been cut.
Jellcin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silk moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jellcin is rocked!
Jellcin lands with a slapping head kick.
Jellcin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Silk to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Jellcin is still in real trouble! Can Silk finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jellcin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jellcin seems to have recovered his senses.
Silk wants to control from the top but Jellcin keeps moving.
Jellcin looking to control but Silk passes into half guard.
Silk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silk prevents Jellcin from standing back up.
Jellcin is looking for a sweep. Silk is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Silk looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jellcin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Silk is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Silk prevents Jellcin from improving his position.
Ground and pound from Silk.
Silk is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Jellcin is trying to stand.
Jellcin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Silk scores with a couple of nice shots.
Silk passes to side control.
Silk works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Jellcin tries to bench press Silk off him but Silk keeps the position.
Jellcin bucks up and tries to throw Silk off but instead Silk has got his back!
Silk scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Jellcin is looking for a way out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silk is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Jellcin. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silk working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Jellcin is in bad spot here.
Silk lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
A helpless look comes across Jellcin 's face. He knows he's trapped as Silk lands a series of unanswered strikes. The ref steps in to stop the fight and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Casey Silk!
