Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Dominguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shooto Katsuragi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shooto Katsuragi looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Dominguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shooto Katsuragi!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dominguez gets a double leg takedown into Katsuragi's guard.
Katsuragi looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Dominguez is looking to stand up but Katsuragi won't let him.
Dominguez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Katsuragi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dominguez slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dominguez stalling.
Dominguez wants to pass to mount but Katsuragi is defending the position.
Dominguez is stalling here. Katsuragi is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dominguez seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Katsuragi has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Dominguez parries the strikes from Katsuragi easily there. Katsuragi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dominguez to escape.

Katsuragi throwing strikes but Dominguez manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Katsuragi is not content to let Dominguez control the position.
Katsuragi is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Katsuragi is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dominguez connects with a decent elbow.
Katsuragi can't do much from the bottom here.

Katsuragi is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Dominguez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Dominguez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Dominguez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Katsuragi, up you get!

Dominguez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Katsuragi circles away.

Dominguez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Katsuragi avoids it really well and circles away.

Dominguez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dominguez wants to control but Katsuragi is keeping him busy.
It looks like Dominguez is going to stand back up.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jimmy Dominguez just wasn't active enough.

Dominguez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Katsuragi's waist but Katsuragi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dominguez off to one side.

Dominguez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Katsuragi misses with a wild combination.
Dominguez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Katsuragi pushes Dominguez away with a front kick.
Dominguez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Katsuragi tries to avoid it but Dominguez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Katsuragi to the ground. Katsuragi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shooto Katsuragi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Good leg kick by Katsuragi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Katsuragi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Katsuragi wants it to stay on the feet.
Katsuragi throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Dominguez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Katsuragi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dominguez is working away from the top position though.

Jimmy Dominguez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Katsuragi slaps away a takedown attempt from Dominguez, before circling back to the center of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jimmy Dominguez.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dominguez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
